60 Day Visa

Featured Replies

I arrived on a 60 day visa on June 29.  I just made reservation without thinking on August 29 to leave.<div><br></div><div>Now I have counted and believe that August 29 will be the 61st day.</div><div><br></div><div>How much of a problem does this present for me???</div>

On arrival you received a stamp with your required latest departure date so there should not be any counting involved but 2 + 31 + 29 = 62 so you will be fined 1,000 baht if nothing puts you in jail prior to exit. You could easily extend your stay (if this is a tourist visa) for 30 days anytime in August to avoid the red overstay/fine (and a chance of arrest if stopped during those days) but it will cost you 1,900 baht and a photo (and visit to local immigration office).

I make that 62 days. What is the permitted to stay date in your passport?

2 choices .

1. Pay an overstay fine of 1,000 Baht when you leave and hope you do not get stopped in those 2 days.

2. Get a 30 day extension from Immigration 1,900 Baht.

On the card there is no date of entry or until date. Just the stamp. The visa itself has an entry date of june 29. It is a 3 entry visa

Just so I understand for the future . I would count 1 day in june 31 days in july and the 29th of August would be 61st day

How likely that he will even bother to count the days with no date on the stamp??

Thanks

I am probably wrong but i think of the first day as 24 hours after my arrival which means 1 day in June and the next 24 hours puts me into July. Probably too logical . LOL

100% as there must be an entry stamp with a permitted to stay date in it. It is not the visa itself and may well be on another page.

For a count day of entry is day one and day of exit is last day.

I found the stamp 4 pages away from the Visa with a stay date of Aug 27. No wonder it takes them so long on exiting. I am not too worried about being stopped because my flight is at 540am so will be out of my apartment only 1 day.

Just want to make sure it is not a big deal at the airport because I still have 2 entries left on this Visa

Thanks again

You will be required to pay 1,000 baht overstay fine and a stamp will most likely be put in your passport to that effect. But it has never been a cause for refusal of a new entry.
