Google Earth Chiang Mai Updates

Featured Replies

Google Earth has added updated images of Chiang Mai city area reaching out just past the ring roads. The image notations list the images as being from Jan-March, 2010, depending on the image. My house is located just outside the outer ring road north of town and has the updated image. A few kilometers farther and the images are from 2005. I haven't browsed the rest of Thailand for updates yet.

Quite interesting to "browse" as the images are much clearer than before. Unfortunately, Doi Suthep is mostly under cloud cover in the permanent image.

I also updated to the latest Beta version of Google Earth which is 5.2.1. I believe all versions use the same images.

Interesting GE starts at Chiang Mai Ram Hospital and goes out east of Doi Saket for the updates. I find nothing north of Mae Rim or south of Hang Dong and nothing else in Thailand.

Thanks for the info. I also just updated my GE version..... But... most of ChM seems to be not clear :( Just the part of the airport and Chang Phuak is ok.

I guess it depends on your view point. Mae Rim on the north to Hang Dong on the south. . Chiang Mai City from east of Chiang Mai Ram all the way east to Highway 1 sout of Phayo. I live in Doi Saket and we can now see whats going on. :D
