short term tourist spend allot of money for there once a year 2 week holiday. i get very annoyed when i see them getting stalked by there own kind. the sorte of thing that reuined spain.

personally i found out that it is against the law to follow someone. when my friends or family come out. i am going to call the police and have an injunction on them to not come with in 50 meters of my friends or family.

this sorte of harrasment is bad for the island but good for the those time share people. i have no problem with people running a business and trying to savive but i do when it affects others.

this is harrasment. if they want to advertise there services and people come into there shop. that is one thing but to drive up and down the road all day trying to trickk people is another story.

basically u will never win that cam corder or that tv. i know some people will say that it is the customers own fault. maybe it is but do we really want to annoy all our guests to this island.it is good for the time share business but not good for everyone elses. people that come here to relax and get away from all the stress.

I have been here nearly 3 years and 1 partcular anoying chap has hassled me uncountable times, he's so stupid he still only recgnises me when I say," p**s o** memory man"

The problem with the Time Share botherers is that they are very well organised. They have a commission/ pay structure. Pests in the street who get punters to visit a location (with the hope of winning a non existant prize), get a commission. Once inside they are subjected to very good hard sell, brainwashing techniques (On commission). Once convinced, they are passed onto another hard sell. Everyone gets a commission......Absolute is one of the worst. (ROOO, can I say this?)

This is what ruined Spain for me.... Hang em high, I say!!!!

if there are some super rich people that have time to do something about this. with backing of lawyers. good lawyers with contacts. then please go and do something for the island and give them as much legal head aches as possible. i know they cannot be wiped out. ( legally) but making there lives hard will give me satifaction

well dogs can carry rabies and mosquitos carry dengy fever and maleria. personally i find them more annoying than the people of amsterdam selling there share of so called parradise.

anyway. there is no need for them infact this is a need to not have them. for us long term people it is ok it is the short term people who have there holidays reuined. I want samui to be a tropical havon away from these pests specially when most of them are home breed from our native countries. plenty of way tpo make a living in thailand. wwhy pick anoying people.

Not many ways to make so much money so easily, not legal ones anyway. But the golden times are over, sales have fallen drastically, even longtimers are not getting paid anymore. I think they should slowly starve to death now, but the remaining sellers will probably get even more desperate and annoying.

Have you organized a blog, website, facebook page with photos to alert potential travelers to your area to be weary of these blokes?

Please send me all the photos of these guys and the all the company info as much as you can

I never visit your island and really you have a point that unsuspecting tourists should not have their holiday ruined by these scammers

This is not a cheap scam and it can ruin lives if people get suckered into it

Seriously, how many times do you get hassle to buy a lady a drink, play connect four, seperate with 1m for time share, easy say no or what you want to say, tell them F-Off if you want... Yeah they are annnoying but its all part of parcel, tailors, tuk tuks (not so much samui), deal with it. I tell them F-Off the moment they open their mouth which usually bring great result..

Its the only way that works with these people. I was stopped by the South African bloke a while back in FV and explained I wasn't a tourist...not interested...still he keeps trying to sell...I walk off in disgust....10mins later he walks into the bar orders himself a drink and starts chatting away like a normal bloke....a week later he tries to stop me again in the same street...<deleted> is with these people....I suspect not much IQ is the main requirement for this line of work....

They only need one a day to make it worthwhile. I know a couple who have fallen for it twice and have paid $18,000 deposits on a unit in Samui and Phuket ! I thought the new 30 day visa rule would have thinned them out but they too ( as do property sammers, vehicle rentals ) are allowed to do as they like because they pay off Immigration ! The question going begging is WHY the police permit it ? ( but then again you just don't see them patrolling anymore )

Having earlier in the day evicted some Absolute guys from their car park, later that night in an unguarded moment, their Reception was completely trashed but staff from a restaurant opposite saw who did it. Oh to nail these lowlife and toss away the key ! or better still, crucify them and place them either side of the road at 50 m. intervals. Crusty for Governor !

I've seen quite a few forum postings about this, and to be honest I see them so many times. There always in chaweng in front of Churraso steakhouse, next to the chaweng regent hotel.

I wanted to ask this question to everyone, is it me or do there seem to be more and more of them. there must be 10 or more foreigners already.

I know we all complain about them but the reality unless the thai system changes and seriously starts to make real efforts in crackdowns on crime, actual policing, the time share scam will continue. along with all other scams

Yes, completely agree - I've tried that crossed-eye look many times, and it works wonders on just about any annoying pest.

maybe but the but the tuk tuk's and taxis are all thai people. and they need to make a living. When i see forangs ripping off other forangs it makes me really angry. Thailand is Thailand. The styke is the style the forangs time share people are just taking the chockolate digestive
