Does anyone here know how many times i can do the border run to Cambodia? I came here on a VOA nearly 2 months ago and have done the Cambodia run twice now. Everyone i ask tells me a different story. Is it just the twice i can do it? Or three times? Or any amount up to 90 days? Or unlimited?I'm 28y/o and British.Thank you!

No one knows exactly how this works, but it used to be 4 times according to one member, however I have been in Aranyaphretet border last week and met a guy (Singaporean, in his late 50s) who claimed that he lives in Aranyphratet city and he has been doing 15 days visa run for the past 4 years without any complain. Usually if they do not want you to do it anymore, they will tell you that this will be the last one, and next time you may be denied entry unless you obtain a visa, so just try again and see if they tell you anything.

One thing I remember, that when they started the 15 days rules I asked the immigration officer about the numbers of times I can do it and he politely replied unlimited.

Good luck

As a Brit you can't get a Visa on Arrival, you qualify for a visa exempt entry which is 15 days if entering by land and 30 days if entering by air.

There is no longer a limit to the number of times you can do this.

I wonder why the OP (or anyone for that matter) would choose the 15 day option if wanting to stay for longer periods?

Surely a double entry from Vientane would make for a lot less time and hassle and probably save a few baht as well

Thank you for the advice. I'm just really worried about crossing the border and then not being allowed to get back in, being trapped in Cambo. I only need two more weeks, then i'll be going back to London. Once i'm in London, i'll apply for a proper visa and return about 1 month later.

So, as long as i can do it one more time, i'm happy! :)

If anyone knows anything to the contrary, please let me know asap!

Kindest regards...

Yeah, sorry that's what i meant. Visa exempt entry. So we are 100% sure there is no limit to the amount of times i can go in and out of the country? I read somewhere that you could only enter the Kingdom for 90 days in a 180 day period. I thought it said i can only enter 3 times (which i have, original air entry and 2 by road from Cambo), but i'm not sure, i could be wrong. And maybe that was just referring to by air, and maybe you're allowed 90 days crossing back and forth by road. Maybe this refers to VOA and not visa exempt. I'm so confused with it all.

All i really need is someone who is 100% dead certain to tell me that i can do this one more time (or unlimited times) to make me a very relieved man!

Thanks for all your help guys!

Hi again m8,

As a newbie to Thaivisa you might not be fully aware of the moderators..and in the case of mod Marios advice "There is no longer a limit to the number of times you can do this"

IMO Mario (and other mods of the like) are the best thing about TV and you can bank on his advice 100% everytime ;)

If you have a flight ticket already, bring it along. If you should really run into troubles it might serve you well.

That said, after only 2 border runs - which is even below the *old* limit of 4 border runs (when you could still obtain a 30-day exempt entry at land borders) - I cannot see why they should bother you (assuming that you provided all relevant information in your OP).

Hint: get a Cambodian eVisa to save passport pages, stress and probably money.

Just do not worry, the immigration officers in Aranyaphratet border are very nice and helpful, they will warn you if there is any new rules before you exit, for example, when they applied the rules of having airline tickets for those on border runs, they used to check the tickets before you exit, and send you back to buy one if you do not have it, they simply try not let you struggle between the two borders.

Good luck
