Hi,The Similan islands are closed until October, there are many boat trips there from phuket, You can stay on one of the islands, there are NO hotels, only small huts or camping tents, this is a national park there are park rangers who will pick you up and take you to the huts / camp site, you need to take provisions with you, BEWARE mosquitos!!!! Lots of people stay here because of the Great Dive sites.

Enjoy

Yes, may people stay there, but not because of the great divesites. Diving is done from boats coming in from o0utside the islands, ni divecenter/tank filling etc. on the islands. Most people staying are relaxing and/or snorkeling, not diving. Edited by stevenl

The Similan Islands are well worth a visit because of the beauty and the excellent diving and snorkling sites. Some smaller non-luxury bungalows for rent on at least one of the islands. Only very limited shopping and dining possibilities on the Islands. If you are a diver, you should instead consider to buy a several day trip with a diving boat, where you can eat and sleep.

Speed-boats available from Thap Lamu pier (Khao-Lak). Day-tours with van to Thap Lamu pier and speed-boat to Similan Islands available from Phuket and Krabi.

You do not need to take ALL your own provisions as there is a simple restaurant at the park HQ, so basic meals, water (and maybe beer?) are available.
