isn't Mae Chai in Phayao?

Where is Mai Chai?

I have no idea mate :)

I thought, as 'mai chai' is kinda like 'no' when you ask a question that has 'chai mai?' at the end of it, or 'not' when you say something like 'mai chai don nee' 'not now' the OP must have meant Mae Chai

This transliteration stuff causes all kinds of problems :)

Anyway, I hope you and yours are well kd :jap:

Hey Biff. We're fine, thanks.

Charlie has been posting here for quite some time. I would like to meet him when he arrives. It seems he posted a long time ago asking if others were close by his place but I'm not for sure on that.

Glad to hear you're well :)

In Charlie's profile his location in Thailand is listed as Phayao so I reckon it's Mae Chai in Phayao he's asking about :)

Which is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphoe_Mae_Chai

Hello mate, not sure when you're doing the return journey but check this site out, I put 26th Nov in and, just for the sake of it, 10th Dec as a return date and it came up with £438 :)

http://www.skyscanner.net/flights/lond/bkk/101126/101210/airfares-from-london-to-bangkok-suvarnabhumi-in-november-2010-and-december-2010.html

You can also do a search for the whole month as opposed to specific dates, hope it helps

Cheers,

Biff

Only just seen this post, but I'm not far from Mae Chai (I think) - I assume you mean แม่ใจ (or 'mother heart' literally translated, which I would pronounce 'maair jai')...!?

Enough of the language lessons before you get bored though; I live in Phayao, about 20km south from there. I'm not that familiar with Mae Chai to be honest, but I know Phayao pretty well. Were you after anything in particular or just random farangs like me to hook up with for beers...? :)

Let me know if you do need help with anything and I will if I can!

etihad are 570 its only 14 hours each way so not much longer

emirates about the same so will book soon

ah yeah, any money you save going from heathrow you'll lose again on the journey down, not forgetting how much of a pain in the arse it is to get to heathrow, from anywhere! I live 20 miles away, admittedly across the other side of London, and it takes me 2 hours!

You can choose whatever airport you want on skyscanners, I just tried it for the dates you want and it's come back £485 with Etihad from manchester

Hope this helps,

Biff
