Canadian man assaulted by his girlfriend’s ex-lover in a Central Pattaya beer bar.

We are about to show you one potential problem associated with over-indulgence in Pattaya’s nightlife. This is Mr. Mark Gibson aged 39 from Canada. He is currently in a relationship with a young lady who was previously in a relationship with another foreigner. The worst case scenario became reality on Monday night in a beer bar in Soi Diana Inn, Central Pattaya when the new boyfriend met the old boyfriend who was still angry about the circumstances surrounding his separation with the lady. Verbal abuse between both parties began which quickly developed into a physical altercation. Mr. Gibson alleges the old boyfriend smashed a bottle over his head causing his head injury. For now Police are attempting to locate Mr. Gibson’s girlfriend who he believes has reunited with the old boyfriend and is now staying with him somewhere in Pattaya.

And, before anyone flames me for my assumption above - surely a woman dating men who hang out (and fight) in beer bars in Pattaya must be a slapper.

And, before anyone flames me for my assumption above - surely a woman dating men who hang out (and fight) in beer bars in Pattaya must be a slapper.

Invariably these fights are about the spurned lover upset at loss of money, not the girl in question :o Seen lots of fights in UK as well, but they tend to be about the girl having sex with someone else, not about how much cash has been invested in her. At least they only had a fight, if they were thai one would now be shot to death. :D

Well, that would be nice, perhaps.

But if you've been seeing a girl, and she's been milking you for gifts/money and so on, and then you find her on the lap of another guy, sometimes the old red-rage takes over (of course, the more booze in the system, the quicker the rage).

You forget she's trying to make a living. You overlook the fact that she was obviously out looking for new boyfriends (it has to be the other guys fault, not my sweet, innocent, little darling's !)

You ignore the fact that the other guy had no way of knowing she was supposed to be "taken" (that leacherous b@st@rd !)

So what do you do ? Sneak up behind the S.O.B. and smack him over the head with a beer bottle (empty of course) ! Don't want to risk him getting a shot at you, you brave little mouse ! Then you scamper off back to your nest with that tasty bit of sweet, innocent cheese, like the mighty hero you are.

Of course, back in Canada, they would say it's the Canadian's fault. After all, if he'd just stayed home, it wouldn't have happened (to him).

Those ###### Canadians, always causing trouble ! This is the 3rd news article regarding a Canadian I've heard of in the last 11 years !

I would go back home, cry a bit perhaps, and realise that I was a fool made a mistake in judgement, and be thankful that I have learned something. To do anything else would be stupid - anywhere.

You`ve got to feel a bit sorry for the Canadian guy....he ends up with an injured head and also loses his `tee rak` to the previous boyfriend....but in the end it will probably turn out to be a good thing for the Canadian, as I am sure that he will soon find another playmate :o

Many years a go I never was aware that there were guys who were "really serious" about these hookers in Pattaya. I went with one and then recieved death threats from her ex from Manchester.

I really honestly thought it was a joke until he turned up in London on my doorstep.

I was out, and sadly for him he verbally abused my eastern European neighbours who kicked the cr*p out of him.

He never returned.

Hmmm, Eastern European neighbours in London. As soon as I read that, the first thing that went through my mind is that they would have probably kicked the crap out of him anyways (and taken his wallet) ! :o

I base this assumption on no facts or evidence what so ever, just pure specualtion :D

I know this one guy in pattaya who was livid about losing his girlfriend to some guy. story goes. he met the girl somewhere, and he discovered from living with her that she was his soulmate. everything was bliss.

then, this guy turns up, tells her he will give her anything if she would leave her old boyfriend to live with him. reportedly gave her over 3k baht a day to stay with him.

now, how many girls do you know would turn down an offer like that?

well, she did just that. left her old boyfriend to live with the new guy.

so, the old boyfriend goes crazy, and looks for this guy every day. I mean, "he really looks for him". and every time he finds him, he beats the shit out of him.

I've known the guy for many years. he normally is a very nice guy. but this thing with the girlfriend pushed him over the edge.

I haven't seen him in a while because frankly I feel uncomfortable when he gets in that "mood".

tough guy, ex-marine, and maritial artist. heard he beat up this big young guy once who pushed him around thinking he was a pushover. sent him across the room with one punch.
