Foreign Companies Tired Of Thai Telecom Mess

Thaksin try to benefit the phone users himself and his cronies by dropping the cut taken by TOT & CAT for doing nothing. he was badly burned. Now, no one dare to touch TOT & CAT for that reason. Not even Mark or Korn. Else, double standard.

There, corrected that for you.

TOT, CAT, and all the sticky fingers in the pudding are very much holding back Thailand and the Thai people. It's not just foreign companies that are tired of this never-ending stupid mess of corruption, it's everyone else too. Every Thai should be tired of it. Thailand already has laws that prevent the "sellout" of Thai companies, but even that Thailand is unable to enforce - isn't AIS Singaporean now, and how can that be? A strong country defends it's laws.

If I remember correctly the concession reduction only applied to AIS, not DTAC or others. It would seem that nikster's correction is appropriate. Indeed Piengrudee is providing a good insight into why Thailand increasingly has more in common with Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar as opposed to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and even Indonesia.

Truly it is a race to the bottom with, it seems, the Thais enthusiastically cheering on.

With Telecoms development retarded and the tourism industry decemated it must be time to throw a spanner in the works of the still successful auto industry.

Clearly written by Farang for Farang gains only. Thai people, TOT & CAT will loose out.

And that is perhaps the reason why most of Thailand's competitors already have 3G and are considering moving on to 4G, yet we don't even have 3G here. Myopic nationalist policies that help keep the rich in place and the poor in 'their' place! Keep peddling backwards you're bound to get there eventually!

They will definitely get there pretty soon. What a shame!

Since the airport is already completed - opportunities for graft & corruption are limited.

Time for a second runway at SuvarnabhumiI think.

It already has a 2nd runway, but if you insist they can put an additional one to form the letter H. ;)

It was Dtac that asked for the concessions re leaf and Dtac was lowered as were all other telcom from 25% to 18% and AIS was only lower to 20% Why are they not recovering the money from the other telcom? Why not have ToT and CAT account for all these funds over the years something on order of 4,000,000,000,000,000 baht

All the Tax free profits he made from the sale of his telephone empire, wish I could get burned that badly.

Just build up your own 'telephone empire' and sell it when its big. than you don't have to look at others full of envy.

Back to your cave, that is if you have worked out that it is better to sleep in a cave than out in the open in the rain.

Maybe your offspring can invent the wheel in 10,000 years time.

I would have thought that some one on line so much, would know what technology was. May be you should travel as well and learn what really is happening in the world.

what a rubbish.

In Manila and Jakarta they are laughing about 3G already, you can already use 3,5G there.

the entire thing is a typical example for the childish and immature attitude of most of most of the Thai society.

but MAI BPEN RAI, I will still stay here nevertheless, cause I outright LOVE childish and immature behaviour
