Air-India to resume, increase flights to Bangkok from tomorrow

MUMBAI: -- As part of its drive to enhance its market share, Air-India will launch 14 additional flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Osaka including non-stop flights from Mumbai and add Seoul as a new destination from tomorrow.

Air-India would recommence services to South Korea from tomorrow after a gap of nearly six years with the induction of two Airbus 310 aircraft taken on dry lease during June-July 2005, A-I said in a release here today.

A-I would now have 16 flights a week to and from Singapore with non-stop services from Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad with five services from Mumbai every week, it said.

The frequency to Kuala Lumpur would be increased to 13 flights a week including seven from Chennai, three non-stop flights each from Mumbai and Delhi, it said.

A-I would also continue to operate 18 code share flights per week with Malaysia Airlines including 13 on the Mumbai/Bangalore/Hyderabad-Kuala Lumpur sector and five on the Kuala Lumpur-Los Angeles sector, it said.

The airline would double its services from the existing five to 12 to Hong Kong including five services from Mumbai to Hong Kong via Bangkok and also increase its services to Bangkok to 11 flights from six currently, it added.
