Slimline/Diet Tonic

I know it's been asked before, but I like Schweppes slimline tonic in my gin. I'm not happy with 7 spoonfuls of sugar with every can of 'normal' tonic it rots your teeth and makes you even fatter!

The frustration is I used to work for the company that made Schweppes tonic and saw them making it- citric acid, aspartame, etc but I've not got the recipe/ formula

I've tried soda water/ lime/ etc, but it's not the same

Anyone have any clues?

BTW

Please can I ask that we do not go off on a tangent about the ?? carcinogenicity of aspartame/ the taste differences etc. I would really like to know if anyone has come up with a decent alternative. If no I may be forced to sneak back to the UK and steal the formula!
