Building A Small Hut To House Pumping Equipment

Featured Replies

I need a simple secure, weatherproof hut 2 x 3m with a concrete base to store the pumps, a filter unit and the irrigation gear. Someone just quoted me 8,000 per square metre which seems a lot to me but maybe I have unrealistic expectations.

Anyone have a comparable job done recently?

Your thread and picture is very helpful, thanks.

Yours looks a bit smarter than I was expecting ours to be but the roller shutter seems like a good idea instead of a door - I should think there must be some secondhand ones around somewhere.

If you know what you want and can lay out or describe a basic design, just abut any "concrete/cement" guy (which there are many in LOS) would probably be happy to build it for you at 250B/day plus materials. You probably have to stay on top of things - but you did say you just want a "hut".

Hi GS,

We had a small barn (the English language definition) built earlier this year. It is 10 x 3 m, in 3 sections. The two outer sections are 3 x 3 & are open on 2 sides, one has a small Thai style toilet. The centre section is cement rendered block, no windows, the roof frame is steel with standard cement reo welded prior to applying the roof tiles, & the door & frame are steel (all done for security). Total cost was B54,000 or B1,800/m2.
