During most of GW two terms I was on a retreat of sorts in Thailand and did not speak to anyone who spoke English nor did I watch English speaking TV.

That the VIT is an idiot is accepted by most people. An idiot could never become a meat inspector as it is a bit too academic, at least it was when I trained and qualified in NZ. Maybe US meat inspectors are not all that bright?
