I've heard the news about everyone can take a free train to airport by BTS, and is that still available now? and can I take BTS from airport to the center city or somewhere else?

live..I've asked about as well you very same question. If you go to You Tube and type in variations of the

Suvarnabhumi BTS extension line, you get to view scads of vids. maybe they were just training and inspection rides, dunno?

Most of the dates on the vids have been on the last 8-9 months.....

Without wishing to be pedantic but you are referring to The Airport Railway Link, it's totally separate from the BTS, though I believe you can transfer fairly easily to the BTS at Phayathai.

They are running a limited trial service and you can travel free of charge. The full service operates from 23rd August which is offering reduced fares until, I believe, the end of the year.

There are numerous threads about this topic, this is one of them http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/369458-airport-rail-link-again-sorry/

With regards to getting from the swamp to the city:

Here is an old (last year?) map/plan of both BTS and MRT stations I found on internet.

This probably includes future station plans, so not sure where they are with this at present time. May not help.

End of next year, though it all looks to be in place already.
