charmedkay07
hi, pls someone help me with this? I'm from Philippines and it's my first time to travel out of the country. I'm going to visit my friend in Thailand and will stay for 7days at her house. I have read that Philippines is not required to have visa if will be staying there for not more than 30 days. i would like to know if : -should i need a letter of invitation from the family (if needed, do you have any idea how to make one?) -i'm confuse if how much is the required fund that i need to carry, someone says it's 10,000 baht and others it's 20,000 baht. i have seen that there 4 categories for the required fund, where do Philippines fall? 1. Transit visa holder 2. Tourist visa holder 3. Visa on arrival 4. Non immigrant visa holder Should i bring the money in cash or can i just show my bank account copy? do they usually ask for this? i'm hoping for a reply from you. thank you very much =)
Lite Beer
When you arrive you will be given a 30 day Visa exempt stamp. Maybe 15 days if arriving by a land checkpoint. You do not need a letter . The requirement is 20,000 Baht to finance your stay but they never check unless you give them reason to.

You're only staying for a week so, presumably you will have a return ticket with the date on it? If they ask you, I don't think they will, but if they do, just smile and show them your ATM card. As you can see from the answers you got here, and your original question, it's a bit uncertain if it's 10,000 or 20,000. Don't worry too much, have some cash on you but you don't need to be carrying thousands of baht around.
whatchamacallit
I have many Filipino friends came to visit me this year - not you don't need any visa. When you arrive they will give you 30 days permission to say. You will be a tourist, and most likely they will not ask you to proof that you have money (cash) to spend whilst here. Be sure to have a return ticket though - as they may ask you to proof it. Now the problem is on your side when you leave the Manila Airport - as the immigration officer may require you to proof that you have booked a hotel here in Thailand. Silly but that's how it goes. Transit Visa holder: Must hold minimum THB 10,000 per passenger or THB 20,000 per family. 2. Tourist Visa holder: Must hold minimum THB 20,000 per passenger or THB 40,000 per family. 3. BWPattaya
I do not know anyone who has been asked to show sufficient funds for their stay. Certainly I have never been asked.
