Mould - Who Can Help?

I rent a house that I'm very happy about. But I think one of the rooms smells very weird, like there's mould under the floor or something. There also some weird stuff on the floor and I seems to get a headache when being in the room. My girlfriend talked to the owner about it and he sent his own team once to look at it. They said it was nothing. They don't seemed very specialised in the subject though. Is there a company in Phuket I can call who can come and take a quick look at it? If they can confirm there is something wrong I could make them call the owner and convince him there is something wrong. He is a very nice guy, not the typical slumlord who don't want to keep up his end of the deal, so I'm sure he'd do something about it if someone could actually confirm it. We live in Phuket town.

Thanks.

The weird stuff if it is black is probably mould, its very common here because of the climate.

Most of the bathroom cleaners here have acid in them, if you use it undiluted and scrub with

a brush it should get rid of it.

What I'm nervous about is if it's under the whole floor. So I can't just scrub it off. I would really like a company to do a test on this.

What do you mean when you say it is UNDER the floor.

Do you have a concrete/tiled floor or a wooden floor ??

It's a wooden floor. But I suspect the whole foundation is humid. There is a pool right outside the room - when I say right outside I mean you step into the pool when you open one of the glass doors in the room. It might be leaking or something. There is water coming up between the joints in the bathroom in that area too. Who should I talk to?

Someone who knows how to dig a ditch to drain the water away

That will fix your problem..

I just need someone trustable who can confirm the problem to the owner so it can get fixed or at least I can get out... I don't need someone to fix it. There must be a company who knows about this and who can come and make a small report.

If you have water outside the room then I would suspect that it is at that same level under the floor,

I suspect the chances of getting it fixed properly if this house is rented are slim. It will be a difficult problem. I'd think about moving if I could.

Hang on.. You have a great landlord who would fix it if he could.. And you have water seeping up through the floor ??

What else do you need to prove ??
