Warship Koh Phangan Museum

Featured Replies

Does anyone know anything about the history of the boat due to arrive here in November?

What was she actually used as?

Where was she built?

What year?

Where did the Thai Navy get her from?

Etc Etc

Thanks

What ship are you referring to? Is it going to be sunk or moored and used as what?

Third thread related on this question! ;)

if you read through the link below, you find part of the answer... (page three I think, I posted what seems to be have confirmed, that it will be a 60 year old retiring Thai Royal Navy Ship. Named the Koh Phengan.

Perhaps we'll need to wait until November when they official open to get all the info... Perhaps they will coordinate with the November FMP to draw a big crowd! :D

I have to head over to KP in next few days, I usually have to "kill" an hour or so waiting for return boat, so will ask the workers if there is more info, but some has already been posted....

Thanks for the replies.

The ship I am referring to is the one the retired / retiring Thai Navy warship, that is due to arrive on Phangan in November this year, and be used as a museum.

Seems that we know very little about the ship other than:

  • 60 years old
  • Called Koh Phangan

I have carried out some searches including

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_equipment_in_Royal_Thai_Navy

No one including the the site contractors that I have already spoken too, seem to know anything about this boat.
