August 29, 201015 yr My first post here on this Mac forum. As some of you may know the DNS servers offered in Thailand can leave something to be desired. There are several free services around such as OpenDns etc., this program however checks all the freebies and the local open servers it can find. It even found a couple up here in Norway that where quicker than one out of two provided by my ISP. The program is free and Opensource, comes in OsX, Windows and Unix flavors. Give it a go, it will not alter anything on your machine, you will have to type in the ip's manually under/in the "Network/Advanced/DNS" settings. http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ J.
August 29, 201015 yr Even better, DNS BENCHMARK, download the latest version, v 1.1.38.83.0 - http://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm and it will find you 50 of the quickest nameserver for your location. My fastest two: 202.44.52.1 203.113. 5 .131. (northern Bangkok) Check it out. A small download without installation.

Well, to run this program you either need to have Wine installed or have Windows installed under BootCamp or Parallels. Namebench runs natively on OsX... J.
