Thank you I wll look them up... I have not decided if I want a crowd yet or not......:)

Go during the week, sat. and sun. too much BKK people. everything too busy.

Ploy Talay at Sai Kaew is cheap if not cheapest - 800 per night or so. Unfortunately they now have a noisy disco that shakes all of the rooms into the wee hours. Was a great place to stay until they built the disco. Since then we have moved upscale and stay at Samed Villa. We like the superior seaview waterfront bungalows, but they have opened some new garden rooms that are a good price.

Hi

A good on-line resource for koh samed is http://www.kohsamed.net it lists all hotels / guesthouses on the island including contact details & nice photos.

look at: le blanc samed - located on saikaew beach, or silver sand in Ao Phai. stayed in both they are good value and on the beach.

enjoy

Avoid White Sands, 700 baht for a bungalow which should cost 70 baht.

Stayed at Sinsamut 4 times now. Can't recommend it enough.

It depends on what you mean by ' you don't want to spend much money '

You can stay on Vaun Du aen beach in a tent if you want .. around 200 Baht ... or you can stay in a five star for 4000 baht.

Nobody on an internet site can confirm what is good and what is not. Some accomodation may seem good to one person but not so good to another.

My advise : go there and see for yourself . Look at what you feel you are comfortable with...

Malibu resort has a pool and nice rooms but is more expensive than Tub Tim resort ... so you see what I am explaining.

good luck::rolleyes:
