September 7, 201015 yr Just to let you know that the Regents School in Bangkok (near Rama 9) has closed its primary school after 22 confirmed cases of H1N1. Some kids have already made a full recovery but the school was shut as a precaution. The closure was carried out with full knowledge of the Ministry of Health. I have heard rumours of government schools shut but I cannot confirm that. Has anyone heard of other schools closing?
September 9, 201015 yr I haven't heard one way or the other. But I have heard the government hospitals have the vaccine available.
September 9, 201015 yr Our next door maid tried all day for two days running this week at government hospital and never obtained as they only had 60 available each day - was asking us how much it cost in private hospital (about 700 baht or more if have to pay doctor). Was able to obtain today at the area public clinic. Edit: This shot price is the southern 2010 vaccine and not the special H1N1 only version.
September 10, 201015 yr I've heard of people getting the vaccine recently at Chula. I have now gotten some unofficial reports of some school closings in Issan and other indications that there is a "second wave" epidemic taking place, as is common with new flu strains.
