Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me if it's necessary to take photo copies of every page of my passport when applying for a 1 year O visa extension. My friend insists that it is, but I have not heard of this requirement before? (Jomtien)

Cheers. Rick

Normally data page and entry visa page and everything since are required for renewals. For first application I would copy all pages. Your processing will likely be held up by someone not having all the required copies and cutting in after getting them.

Thanks for the help Lopburi3.

Copying all pages does not mean copying blank, unused pages. Copy your details page (the one with photgraph, name etc), your visa page, TM card, most recent entry date stamp page, last re-entry permit (not really necessary but TIT)

Do them all before you go at beteween 50 Satang and one Bt per page instead of doing them outside Jomtien Immigration where it is 5 Bt per page.

About copies of PP for free:

I have scanned all used pages and combined two pages in the upper part of an A4 sheet and the next two on the lower part using PhotoScape software.

Add or replace pages as needed when changes have been made.

All you have to do whenever copies are needed just hit he print button. But it has to be in black n white! They do not accept color copies.

I've done this for all our documents for which copies are frequently required.

In any event, please note that, as far as UK passports go, it is illegal to make colour photocopies.

Can you provide a source for that illegal to make color copies of UK passport? Ten years ago I might see the issue but seem rather foolish in todays world. And I have used color copies of US Passport many times in Bangkok without issue.

I don't know what is legal or not about color copies of my (German) PP but in general government offices here only accept B/W copies.

Banks do accept color copies but require you to either put a double diagonal line across the page or use rubber stamp "COPY".

Thats what I did when I applied for my first extension of stay at Chok Chai to save paper. The officer who dealt with my application told my wife that she would accept 8 passport pages in colour per A4 sheet this time but next time I would have to have only 2 passport pages per A4 sheet. I suppose it depends on the Immigration office.....as per all other differing requirements.

Thanks for all the replies. Today I copied the entire passport in black and white, so i hope that all is OK with my application. I just get the feeling that when I arrive they are going to say you don't need that, as usual.

Best to be prepared though.

And make sure that you sign each and every copied page.
