ok i am returning to thailand after a while.

i am entering on a O visa multiple entry 1 year, also based on the fact married to a thai women who is in usa.

she at present is staying in usa and i am coming alone.

i understand that i will have make visa trip every 90 days.

what else could i do to extend my visa longer and or prevent taking visa runs.

especially after my year is up can i extend my visa. can i get a straight marriage visa even though my wife continues to work in usa?

i am over 50 years of age but i here the money requirment are higher for that kind of visa than marriage visa.

but my wife might still be working in usa and not with me all the time.

Please you guys tell me what my options could be.

i know i might need 400000 in bank for the marriage visa but could i borrow that from family before hand and after visa is given return it to them

Thanks for any serious help anyone can give me to stay in thailand forever.

also i would be working but teaching thai massage and getting paid under the table so i am not looking for a work visa to go along with any other visa i might be able to get.

thanks

First, working without a work permit is illegal, you should reconsider that part of the plan. To get an "Extension of Stay" based on marriage, you would have to apply here in Thailand and your wife would have to be here also. As to an extension based on retirement, you could consider the 65,000 Baht per month income method, or the combination of income and savings, if you don't have 800,000 Baht.

May i ask question regarding the 800,000 baht in Thai bank. If one has a monthly income from abroad of say 55,000 baht, does that mean they only need to put in the bank 140,000 baht to make up to the 800,000 baht ?

The Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa will give you up to 15 months. Needs a border run every 90 days.

A 12 month Extension based on having a Thai Wife requires 40,000 Baht a month income or 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank. It has to be there for 2 months before applying.

It is issued on the basis that you and your Wife are living together in Thailand. They do come and check. They sometimes will talk to neighbours.

Your Wife has to be with you when applying. She is interviewed and has to sign an affidavit.

sorry, I forgot to ask. Will immigration accept proof of entry of monthly income from abroad as stated in Thai bank book?

so what you guys are saying is that i will be good for 15 months if i time my runs correctly and then i could leave and get another visa maybe singa pore.

but for my marriage visa wife has to be there.

or retirement visa changed or extended before my current visa is up.

i just have to have the 800000 in the bank 3 months before and then i can take it out.
