Need to work on a project which is some what complicated, many people, many things to be done, and many meetings to follow up on sub-sub tasks. General issue........ discuss project plan, have minutes of mtg identifying who has to do what and when, and then be able to summarize per person what their pending issues are ( i.e. one person could be involved in many area's, and as such will need a complete list of their assignments). Was hoping that MS project can handle this, but it looks like only good for scheduling, not for tracking and communicating follow up issues......

any idea on either how to integrate MS access / excel with Ms project, or any good end to end tools which can help keep everything on a single platform.

You might consider something like Project Kaiser or Basecamp as an alternative to standard project plans to keep on top of the issues.

The idea is that people log to their own page and see their jobs , their meetings etc so they dont get bogged down and you can see all the outstandings , who is doing what , when etc

It can all be online so it takes care of the problem of keeping project plan versions up to date and people not having MS project viewers .

There are a lot of these types of programs around now, Zoho or Sharedplan are some others, the key thing is to link a project plan with an issues list manager so you dont have to hunt through a million emails
