I have been looking at the Bill of Exchange (B/E) subscriptions. Does anyone have any experience with these?

What are the interest rates – it looks like the rates are no better, or sometimes worse than a fixed deposit at more than 12 months?

Can you withdraw early, if so, what is the penalty?

What are the risks – I know it is not insured like a deposit account, but under what circumstances will the money be at risk?

Do they withhold tax on the interest, if so, at what rate?

Would you recommend this as opposed to a longer term fixed deposit?
