Police Clearance Check In Thailand

Featured Replies

Throwing a quick question out that ive recently been asked. Is it possible for a foreigner to get a police clearance in Thailand? Im not sure at this point what kind of clearance, but i imagine some kind of general check.

Any idea?

Thanks.

A foreign national residing in Thailand can apply for a Thai Police Clearance Certificate at:-

Police Clearance Service Centre, Special Branch, Royal Thai Police, Building 24,

Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Rama 1, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand.

Tel: 00 66 2 205 2168 Fax: 00 66 2 205 2168 Website: www.sb.police.go.th

It is open from Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays) from 0830 to 1630.

Its the big building on your right as you walk from Siam Paragon to Central World, Special branch office does have english signage. Can't recall how much it cost me when I did it, not much. And they mailed it to my home.

The police clearance check is free, and they charge 40 baht to post it back to your address. Depending why you are getting it done, you may need to get it notarised at the Foreign Ministry of affairs. I needed to do this for a Brazilian Visa application.
