Not So Beautiful

Featured Replies

Not so beautiful Last may i was in pattaya and my glass's broke and i decided to price a pair of glass's up in the beautiful shop on beach road in pattaya.Spoke to the manage and i was quoted 7000baht, so i decided that i would wait till i got home, the manage asked me, why wait , If you have a problem , you can always fetch them back, so i bought them, 2 days later my New glass's arrived and i could see again. Anyways got home and after a few weeks i noticed that the color was coming off the frames and you could really notice, so i was not that bothered knowing that i was going back to pattaya in September.

I arrived in Pattaya last month and made my way to the Optical shop and asked the 3 young ladies if i could speak to the manager, I was told that he had left and no longer works for the company ,. so i explained my problem and asked for a new frame, i was greeted with, sorry Mr, but we cant help you and that we don't guarantee frames and nothing we can do for you, So i asked if they could phone their boss, sorry Mr , we cant do that, So i said, ok, can you sent the frames back to the manufarurers, sorry Mr., we cant and their is nothing we can do,. this is Thailand and not the UK!!!! and this went on for 45 minutes and they would not help me.I told them that i was in town for 10 days and that i would call in everyday until they replaced the frames. 2 days later i decided to try and get the managers name and that i would email customer services when i got home, So i went into the shop and told them that i had emailed customer services and explained about my Glass's and that their wanted the managers name, the young lady said , sorry Mr, i wont give you his name, at this point i was rather upset with their attitude and i noticed a couple buying some glass's in the shop, so i told them , I would not buy glass's from this shop because if you have a problem, they just don't want to know and the customers walked out , at this point the lady shouted at me , why did you do that and get out of the shop, i told them that i was going nowhere and every time a customer came in , i would tell them the same thing , so the lady rang someone and within 10 minutes she was really helpful, Sorry Mr, Which frame would you like!!!! I was really worried at the time thinking that she was phoning the Thai Mafia or someone like that, but hey , If you don't make a stand, they will walk all over you...

The next time someone treats you badly you now know what to do from the outset, no more messing around.

I guess they replaced the frames with equally crap frames for free ?

yes another crap frame and with a warning, if these ones go wrong, we will not replace.

When you say the glasses broke, were you talking about the frame or the lenses? If it was only the lenses which broke, you should be able to buy another pair and have them fitted to the existing frame.

Where did the OP say his glasses were broke?

Sorry, Note to oneself to read full post before replying! :sorry:

In his opening statement.

Edited. You're right, he did say broke.

Have you just got up, Xircal?

Don't understand

I've been viewing the world through bifocals - beer-coloured rose-tinted spectacles.

Its a great view, so long as your glass is half-full.

Bottoms up might cause problems with the jolly old Weltanschauung though.

Not to mention colour perception.

That's why I prefer to view the world in monochrome - or, if necessary, two-tone.
