Got My Non B With No Ba

Hi,

I commented a couple of months ago that my school was doing there best to get my paperwork sorted for me to get a Non B visa even though I not have a BA. I had several people very interested in how I get along including the forum as al lot of people were saying this could not be done.

Well I have done my visa run last week and I came home with my Non B visa with out any questions from the immigration. Even though there were copies of my TESOL certificate they did not look at any of my qualifications at all. All the look at were all the paperwork that the school had prepared for me. Did not ask me any questions at all, I got a nice smile and she told me to go pay my 2000 baht in that building over there, so I smiled back and said thank-you and ran away lol. Next day I collected my passport with my Non B visa all stamped up and official.

So for those asking me to keep in touch and to let them know how I got on, all is good. Next thing is for the school to get me my work permit which they will do in November when I go back for second semester.

A BA is not required to get a non b visa. They nay sayers who told you that are completely wrong. NOW, when you get ready to get your work permit its a different story. A BA is required to get a work permit. But it sounds as if your school has arranged your paper work so they probably got the waiver letter for you. With this waiver letter you will not need a BA and you will be a legal teacher in Thailand. You will have a 2 years waiver for BA degree and teachers licenses. Then after your 2 years is up you can get another 2 year waiver. This adds up to four years of waivers.
