The shrine, recently repainted... The gold pillars have been repainted since I took these pictures and the stuff on the right side removed. . I would also note that the repairs were funded to the tune of 38,000 baht by donations from the Toh Seh Hillwalkers Association (my translation)...on my way up there right now. JetsetBkk
I was up there again this afternoon and yesterday - and forgot to take new photos both times. (Probably because I'm so knackered when I get to the top.) But I did hear that two farangs were bitten today by monkeys, and 4 were bitten yesterday. Seems like some of them were teasing the monkeys by handing food to them and then snatching their hand away. Stupid thing to do. When I go I take a large amount of peanuts to keep even the alpha males happy. Today the place was teeming with them. I also took some videos of the monkeys playing in the water tank at the back of Channel 3. Hilarious to watch.

phuketsub
Long overdue signs warning tourists to "beware the monkeys feeding" appeared on Khao Toh Seh this morning. The face on the monkey reminds me of Bart Simpson when he is getting choked by Homer.

phuketsub
saw that...here's another one I took up there a few months ago and just came across. I guess I liked it because the sweepers up there are always so focused on getting the leaves of the pavement, but they don't do anything about all the plastic and foam on the shoulders... I think someone should train the monkeys to pick up the trash in exchange for food
phuketsub
This is a weird one. As I was taking my walk up Toh Seh this morning I thought I 'saw something' on one of the paving stones that were drying out from last night's rain, so I took a pic...just wondering if anyone else can see anything, or if my human pattern recognition function is just overactive...
