? About Getting Visa @ Thai Consulate In Chicago

I have to travel back to the US next month to attend a wedding and I will need to get a new visa before returning to Thailand. How long does it typically take for the consulate in Chicago to process a tourist visa and would they allow someone else to drop off and pick up the passport?
