I think it's a good idea. I'm planning on eventually locating myself in that part of Thailand and would appreciate having a dedicated community site. I guess it would only be worth doing if there were enough people interested though

Aside from the big name islands, I am also interested in the smaller, more remote and less visited ones.I think the "Lonely Planet Thailand's Isalands and Beaches" guide is rubbish. Online information would me much better and up to date.

There's already a Samui forum and I doubt that Sammy, Pangers, Lanta, Tao and Chang have enough appeal to expats to justify their own forum.

Then again it's not a bad idea, to this day I've never been to Lanta or Tao and an island forum would be an ideal place for me to post a query.

One day, when there are more expats living on the Koh Chang and the eastern islands and indeed more farangs visiting generally, there might be enough posters but at the moment I doubt if it would get as many hits as even the Krabi forum.

As a part time resident I would post and I expect KohChang Farang would as well but how many others?

If you are interested show some support on this thread!

It's not looking good for the new forum idea! I would have thought with all the falangs living in that area there'd be plenty of support, well I guess most of them don't use forums then, fools don't know what they're missing!

This actual forum is not that widely read so I doubt many people have even read it.
