October 20, 201015 yr Looks like this is another way to beat the rules in advertising your products here. LOL:rolleyes:
October 20, 201015 yr I think the Black Man logo is rather cute. What's the problem? looks like Garry Coleman
October 20, 201015 yr I think the Black Man logo is rather cute. What's the problem? If it was called 'Gay Man' and had a logo of... (ok lets not go there....)......
October 20, 201015 yr I think the Black Man logo is rather cute. What's the problem? If it was called 'Gay Man' and had a logo of... (ok lets not go there....)...... Well, you're wrong. If it was a cute gay man, a positive image, no problem. If it was some kind of negative stereotype, not so good. Do you really see anything nefarious about that pleasant image of a friendly happy black man? Edited October 20, 201015 yr by Jingthing
October 20, 201015 yr I guess you are right; that would never happen at Walmart. The guy in the logo has a bow tie, far to sophisticated for Walmart shoppers.
October 20, 201015 yr Very smart advertisement because the character looks like so many different individuals. Edited October 20, 201015 yr by farang000999

Do you really see anything nefarious about that pleasant image of a friendly happy black man? Agreed - But in these modern politically correct 'we are not sure if we are supposed to say black or colored' days... Any image with any link to anyone who is not a hetrosexual white male will at some point draw the attention of the 'PC do-gooders'. I'm sure somewhere there are people around who would choose to take offense at this 'Black Man' image, and JT as you have pointed out it's not an offensive image.
October 20, 201015 yr Any image with any link to anyone who is not a hetrosexual white male will at some point draw the attention of the 'PC do-gooders'. They have no say here, clearly nobody listens to them anyway.

Do you really see anything nefarious about that pleasant image of a friendly happy black man? Goes right along with my idea to sell toothpaste to the British: English Teeth, English Teeth! Shining in the sun A part of British heritage Aye, each and every one. English Teeth, Happy Teeth! Always having fun Clamping down on bits of fish And sausages half done. English Teeth! HEROES' Teeth! Hear them click! and clack! Let's sing a song of praise to them - Three Cheers for the Brown, Grey and Black. — Spike Milligan, "Teeth" Then again they would probably never use it

It is offensive if you are aware of the "step and fetch it" stereotype. And certainly don't call anyone "colored," what are you, living in the 50's? Jeesh Its kind of like selling a money counter called "Jew boy" or a lockpick called "Australian Man," the list could go on.....
October 20, 201015 yr Goes right along with my idea to sell toothpaste to the British: Yes, because adult teeth are meant to be naturally 'brilliant shiny reflective white' aren't they ?

Jeesh Its kind of like selling a money counter called "Jew boy" or a lockpick called "Australian Man," the list could go on..... Black men's stereotype? Do you mean PRESIDENTS? I'd think I would buy a Jew Boy money counter (that's funny!) IF I happened to have enough money to need a money counter, which I don't, but one can dream ... It's certainly a better branding idea than Big Mormon Mama Money Counter, eh? Edited October 20, 201015 yr by Jingthing
October 20, 201015 yr or a lockpick called "Australian Man What? I don't get, and have never heard of, the association of Australia and lockpickers? If you are talking about house break ins, in Australia that's normally effected by smashing a window or roof tiles, and is normally done by someone who looks a lot like the fellow in post #1.

If you are talking about house break ins, in Australia that's normally effected by smashing a window or roof tiles, and is normally done by someone who looks a lot like the fellow in post #1. What, aren't Australians all thieves? It was in fact started as a penal colony, don't mean to stereotype though

October 20, 201015 yr I guess you are right; that would never happen at Walmart. The guy in the logo has a bow tie, far to sophisticated for Walmart shoppers. And I thought the image Issan related.
October 20, 201015 yr And certainly don't call anyone "colored," what are you, living in the 50's? Jeesh People of color is perfectly fine though.
October 20, 201015 yr Why do people come here and then try to impose their cultue and values. If you took a vote of the world's population you may find that it is perfectly acceptible. It would be in China or India. .
October 20, 201015 yr <-SNIP> or a lockpick called "Australian Man," the list could go on..... Come on, I've only ever meet Aussies on Thai visa parties. Judging from that, Aussies are far to drunk to chat up a girl never mind picking locks. Edited October 20, 201015 yr by Hawkup2000
October 20, 201015 yr Jebus H Christ on a cracker, now you old farts are dragging the PC hysteria to Thailand. I would have thought that was part of the reason you are in LOS to begin with, to escape the insanity. Oh wait. Edited October 20, 201015 yr by KeyserSoze01
