In BKK True has a very reasonably priced unlimited monthly wifi option. However, where I am the signal is very, very weak. Sometimes I don't even see it. When I do it is one bar.

Is there any equipment that I can buy that I can place in the area with the weak signal that will receive the signal, amplify, and re-broadcast?

If so maybe try a 12dbi antenna, found in most PC places for around 1000b

Search on the internet for "can antenna wifi" and you will find plenty of info. Other search terms are "coffecan antenna wifi" and "cantenna"

Some of the homemade directional antennas are truly remarkable in their ability to pick up wifi. For instance being able to pick up wifi from a restaurant based wifi source over 1/2 mile away! 1000M.

Dimensions of the parts and connectors MUST be precise. There are places that sell the connectors and some places that sell actual kits, they are not particularly expensive but getting them shipped to Thailand might be another problem.

Actually at the mW transmit powers we're talking about modern output devices are pretty bomb proof, they'll happily drive an open circuit (antenna removed) without damage, just get a little warm.

There's a network shop in Fortune with several high-gain WiFi antennae on display, not asked prices though.
