Modem Problem

Featured Replies

I bought a new modem to replace the one TOT had me on (Billion). The new modem is D-Link DSL526B (not wireless). The auto-setup didn't do much, so I checked in the settings and entered the password for my TOT account and changed one setting (VPI:1 and VCI:32) that seemed different from what I had before.

Now I can connect, but I don't have any upload speed (.01 or .02) so something still isn't set right.

Does anyone have this modem or know what the settings should be? I don't really understand any of it. TOT guy has to come back at some point so maybe he can fix it, but since it's not their modem I don't know if they'll do it?

All help greatly appreciated.

Maybe some guys on here will answer that know for sure.

What l know about the TOT telephone line coming into my village is that it can cope with up to 4mb and some others have 8mb.

When all the shops that have computers and with the kids on holidays it still gets over subscribed.

l have a TP-Link modem for 2mb but it never gets to that speed 1.25mb at best.

Hope you get it sorted the TOT guys have been very good and honest about whats happening.

the only other setting that I had to change was Encapsolusion PPPoE LLC

Also TOT now issue you the DLINK DSL526B, as I have one sat at home still in a box as I had my own modem before and was happy with it.
