Purchasing Air Asia Ticket Online Hiccup

Featured Replies

AA's website will not accept my credit card, which it has on numerous occasions in the past. I believe the problem is occurring with the "State and zip code" entry. The drop-down menu gives choices of "select state" and "n/a". After choosing the "United States" as the country, I'd expect a list of states to choose from. Anyways, I selected "select state" then typed in the zip code. What did I do wrong?

I had a similar problem with the website in that it wasn't accepting UK post codes. I put in a random US Zip code instead and it worked! Perhaps you should try a UK post code. :)

Seriously, it should be reported to Customer Services.

What customer service? I'd be shocked if they had one. To this date I find their website to be mickey mouse.

They do, but if you are thus concerned; perhaps you should book with a full fare airline.

I'm sure they will be happy for your business. :)

I think their prices would be a lot more expensive if Mickey Mouse was involved.

Seriously though, that sounds to me as if they are not using AVS checking so in theory you should be able to proceed with wrong address information as long as all fields are complete.

With AirAsia and most other places, all that matters is the zip code. FWIW, Air Asia rejected me like two times and on the third time it went through, all with the same billing information. I got a call from Citibank shortly after, however everything went through just fine.

BTW, AirAsia doesn't provide a proper list of states on their site.

I've had these problems on several occasions over the last three years or so. I've found the best way to overcome it is not put in a post code at all and then it works right away.

At the bottom of the list of states (Malaysian on the English website) click on the word "OTHER"

I believe it appears in one more dropdown list but I can't recall which: but it does work.

What really posses me off with Air Asia (I am a fan) Is when you decide not to book a reserved seat it keeps throwing you back, so you have to at an addition 100Baht, then of course the 140 Baht convenience(Admin charge)

Just click through as if you are going to buy a seat and then don't.
