Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. My name is James.

I found this forum whilst trying to find the answer to a question and I hope to become a member of your community.

Can I please start out by asking if anyone has easy answers to a couple of questions ?

I have been in Thailand on tourist visas for some time and my passport is almost full up. What do I have to do when my passport is full ? I assume I have to buy a new one ? Can I do it from in Thailand or do I have to go back to England, how much does it cost etc. Any useful info would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I really want to go and visit Hong Kong. Was thinking I would combine it with a visa run. However, H.K. has a high command - not an embassy. Can I get a Thai visa from H.K. ?

Sorry if they have been answered elsewhere, and please give me some hints and tips if you can.

Thanks and have a nice day everyone.

Greetings. Short answer is passports are now issued for the region through HK. If you want to go there, you can apply in person there, but you will have to remain in HK for the renewal process, which is said to take @ 4 weeks. Alternately you can apply from here 'by post' to HK, retaining your existing passport and a new one will be sent to you here, in again @ 4 weeks. Some people have reported getting the passport back more quickly.

Please review the data on the link below.

UK Passport from Thailand

On the visa point there is no difference between an Embassy and the Consulate General [HK no longer has a British High Commission]
