August 1, 200521 yr Excuse my typing, drunk as a a nit. My wife just got a visa for Aussie , 1 year mutliple. The trouble is, our flight to Melbourne is booked on the 9 th of August. My visa expries on the 4th. I have never really understood all the rules with visas. Can I extend a 30 day, in BKK, with a passport full of a ###### of alot of Cambo visas from Poopet and Had Lek? I really could not be bothered making another visa run. Thanks
August 1, 200521 yr It depends on what visa you have now to how long the extension will be. Is it a transit visa ie. did you get 30 days from just doing a border run? Or is it a proper tourist visa that you got from a Thai embassy outside the country? When does the current visa expire?
August 2, 200521 yr You can probably receive a 10 day extension from immigration with the outbound ticket helping to defray your reputation as a border runner. If you have a Thai wife you might ask yourself why do 30 day runs when a non immigrant O visa is easily available. Perhaps obtain on your Oz visit? Edited August 2, 200521 yr by lopburi3
August 2, 200521 yr Author Yup, it is a transit visa. Expires on the 4th of this month. Beleive me I hate doing border runs. Thanks for advice Lop Buri, much appreciated. If not an O visa , 60 days, multiple will make life alot easier

If not an O visa , 60 days, multiple will make life alot easier <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I might as well squeeze my question in here: I have a passport packed with tourist and 30-day visas. I am currently on a tourist visa and would be looking for hte 30 day extension. Will it be given to me? I seem to remember that they started giving you only 10 days back when they raised the fee to 1900baht. When that happened I stopped going for the extension and just did the border run/visa trip. What is the current situation? Is 30 days extension the norm again or do the actually do it case by case? thanks
August 2, 200521 yr 30 days is the normal extension of a 60 day tourist visa. 10 days or less is normal for a 30 day entry without visa.
