More shots fired at the National Museum of the Marine Corps after earlier shootings

2010-10-29 21:03:15 GMT+7 (ICT)

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- Authorities are investigating more shots fired at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia, the latest in a series of similar incidents.

The shooting happened at around 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday evening but was not discovered until staff members came into the building on Friday and noticed bullet holes.

It is unclear who is behind Thursday's shooting. However, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on Thursday linked an earlier shooting at the National Museum of the Marine Corps to similar shootings at the Pentagon and a vacant Marine Corps Recruiting Station.

"No one was injured in the shootings, which all involved shots fired into vacant parts of the buildings," the Washington Field Office of the FBI said, adding that the same weapon was used in all the shootings. "The investigation is being lead by the FBI Washington Field Office's Joint Terrorism Task Force (WFO JTTF)."
