I am planning to go to Vientiane to apply for a Non-Imm 'O' visa and would appreciate some advice.

I will be flying in and believe I will be automatically granted a visa on arrival.

Is this the case?

Also, does anyone know how long I can expect the processing time to be and what the office hours of the Embassy are?

Any suggestions on a hotel plus do's and don't's would be very welcome too as I have never been to Laos before.

Visa on arrival is $30 US. Put the passport in before 12, which means be in line as soon as possible. Last deposit is at 12. Ready to pick up the next afternoon at 1.00 PM. Again, be there early.

Overnight minimum 1 night.
