I would appreciate some advice from members.

I plan to be in Thailand in November. I am hoping to go to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya. The main cultural event in that month is Loy Krathong.

There are Loy Krathong events in BKK, Chiang Mai and Sukhotai. But as the main event is on the 15th November, i can only see the events of that night in one of those cities. Which is the best, do people suggest?

It would probably be handiest to catch it in BKK, but if people say that Chiang Mai or Sukhotai is a lot better, i suppose i could make the effort to be in that city for the 15th Nov.

The events in Chiang Mai (with the lanterns, etc.) seem to be rather like the events shown in what i presume was Loy Krathong in the film, "Beautiful Boxer", which i thought were rather magical.

But the reality might be less so, i suppose.

So, do people have any advice?

If it is not too late and you r in BKK, now it's 6:30pm there..go to the Benjasiri Park (Queens's Park) next to Emporium. You could have somee joy there.

Today is the day.
