Gaza explosion kills Palestinian man

GAZA CITY (BNO NEWS) -- A Palestinian man was killed and at least one other was injured after a car exploded outside a Hamas police headquarters in Gaza City on Wednesday, local media reported.

The 27-year-old victim was identified as Mohammed Jamil al-Nemnem, who, according to security forces, was part of a militant group linked to al-Qaeda.

According to Hamas spokesperson Ihab Ghussein, the explosion could have originated from an Israeli air strike, but the Israel Defense Force has not yet commented on the incident.

"Investigations show that the explosion was caused by missile fire from an Israeli drone," Ghussein stated.

It is still unclear, however, as some witnesses said the explosion came from within the car, while others have stated that a hole was seen in the ground, which could indicate a missile strike.
