is it true that you need a return or onward ticket to be allowed to fly to bkk from uk?

i was told a while ago about one airline forcing a freind at check in to buy a return ticket before they would let him fly to thailand from the uk. apparently airlines are liable for letting people travel with incorrect entry details and would not let him on without proof of plans to leave thailand after their visit.

i have a one year non-im B visa and its cheaper for me to buy one way tickets than normal returns which i have to pay extra to extend.

i don't want to get screwed at the airport

thanx

If you have a valid visa for Thailand NO PROBLEM, you can fly to Bangkok on a one way ticket.

The problem comes out when you don't have a visa .

Correct.

One thing though i would of thought it would be cheaper to come here on an open 6month or 1 year return than buying 2 one ways?
