Max333
Hello everyone, I'll go to Nong Khai in 4 or 5 days and I'm looking for some accommodation. Price range should be roundabout 400-700 Baht per night. Neither swimming pool, nor wifi required ( and if I consider how cold it has been getting in evenings I guess I don't even need an aircon ). Room should be clean and have a comfy bed and if possible it should be in a quiet area, so I can sleep beyond 8 a.m. Also I should be allowed to bring an overnight guest . And finally a view (Mekong?) would be great, but is no must. Additionally to accommodation I'll need a small bike, maybe Honda Click or similar. Any info on that? Si if anyone of you guys owns, runs or knows a good place to stay in Nong Khai, please let me know. Thanks for your help :jap:
Lite Beer
Never tried it but a lot of people recommend mut mee guest house.
Max333
I read on another thread on Thaivisa.com that this GH would not be very welcoming to Farang with Thai GF company, so I'm looking for alternatives to Mut Mee. Maybe some other recommodations available?

Max333
Nong Khai Resort - near the train station. Excellent accommodation and the Thai GF will approve www.nongkhairesort.com/eindex.html Thanks prakhonchai nick, great input. I just checked their homepage, looks great. Couldn't find any informations on the prices on their homepage, so I called them and they said a bungalow is 700B/night, sounds pretty perfect. I guess motorbikes rentals are easy to find in Nong Khai?
Orac
The Pantawee is pretty central with a decent selection of rooms though no river view. My parents stayed there a few months ago and were very happy with it. Also has bike hire. Pantawee.com

Another one I'm looking at is the CK Mansion. I'll report back where I stayed and what it was like. Edited November 8, 2010 by Max333
Spaniel
I read on another thread on Thaivisa.com that this GH would not be very welcoming to Farang with Thai GF company, so I'm looking for alternatives to Mut Mee. Maybe some other recommodations available? Wise decision. Me and (Thai)wife stopped there several years back looking to rent a room and the obnoxious ex-pat owner was pretty rude. Needless to say we stayed elsewhere.
