Plenty of places around the island better for 1500 Baht than Chaweng.....Bangrak Bophut in better locations for the price.

Good location in April Chaweng is more starting at 2-2.5k Baht for a bungalow in my experience.

But the OP asked for Chaweng. This is beginning to look like a comedy thread.

Clearly I suggested bungalows on Chaweng within budget, but then you write to the contrary without even checking.

Has everyone left the island?

I'm not sure if bungalows such as Lucky Mother are still there, but there should be a few beachside options(as opposed to the other side of the road) for 1500 baht.

Ark Bar Beach Club

Chaweng Resort

First Bungalows

Island Resort

Seascape

Off the beachside rooms easily found for 600 Baht or even cheaper around Laem Din.

EDIT: There are a few other places I've stayed in beach side but without the view of the water....2 minutes south of Green Mango has a few around 1500 Baht close to Ark Bar.

Some of those are not within budget in April and certainly don't offer a bungalow at that price. Ark Bar is just a noisy hole...in my opinion. You might as well be staying in a council flat or a hotel room in Magaluf.

Forgot to add...there may be an AA sale in a couple of days, so hang on until then.

Thanx....:jap:

Sale no good to you, as flights are from 1st of July.

The only other places worth looking at are right at the north end of Chaweng beach. Sorry don't know the names of these places but stayed there a while back. Within budget but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone really. Poor value for money generally.

What happened to all of the helpful people? ;)

Ok, I'll start....If you want a bungalow, perhaps you can take a look at O.P. Bungalow.

Thanx, this Resort looks nice :jap:

consider that you can not swim there in April.

Exactly where is this OP Bungalow situatet?

From their pictures, it looks like they're at the north end of Chaweng beach inside the laguna area. However on their map, they've placed their location on southern end of the beach, almost at Chaweng noi or around First House. That's totally different parts of the beach.

Also, no mention of price on their website at all.

Not a problem to walk down the beach a little to find a swimming spot that you like. It's a nice safe spot.

...??...there is no danger at all.

Actually, if swimming is a priority I would suggest to take a resort in the area from Al's hut onward to the South of Chaweng.

It's a big difference for a beach guy to have a sea in front of you, where you can roll into the water from your bungalow any time you want to or you have to walk 10 minutes to do so.

Why the part of beach from the O.P. Resort is danger? From that what i see from homepage, mean from pictures can´t see anything.

By the way the room Rate i already phone to them is:

from 950 THB (Garden Bungalow no b-fast) up.

They said varity kind of Bungalow and also varity kind of Rate.

So you think the "Al´s Hut Resort" is a better Location, not danger?

There is no danger. You have misread the post. I wrote that it is safe, as there is a reef some way out which generally prevents the water from getting rough. The downside is that when the water level is low, there is less free movement of water than other parts of the beach that aren't covered by the reef. Because of the reef it is amongst the safest area for children to paddle.

What the other poster is suggesting is that if the water level is low, you may have to walk down the beach a bit to get some deeper and more free-flowing water.

In fact it is more dangerous on certain other parts of the beach because there is no uninterrupted flow.
