TomBrown
Recently it was announced (link) that there would be a Pattaya Old Town Market at the far end of Naklua Road, this weekend being the first weekend of many (6 November - 20 February 2011). It started where the park is and ran all the way down to the bridge. Mainly full of various Thai food, some of which I hadn't seen before or tasted till now, as well as clothes and other things to buy. There were two stages for shows, one about a quarter way along with traditional Thai music and another near the end of the market on the bridge with seating and beer available to watch the live band. Toilets were available too. Family and I went both Saturday and Sunday, really enjoyed the food. Come evening, it was really busy. There were both Thai and foreign customers, though I mainly seen Thai. Definitely worth a visit and bring an appetite. There is a web site, but not updated for 2010 yet; PattayaOldTown.com Here's some pics; Edited November 8, 2010 by TomBrown

TomBrown
The people selling the food were really nice, happy and talkative, but somehow my pics didn't really capture it. Something I'll have to work on - lol. To be fair some were quite busy sorting their food.
ruffneck
They did this last year, and for the first couple of weekends my girlfriend went there and really enjoyed it. However after that, it turned into your typical Soi Boukouw/Threppasit types of markets, and the essence of tradional thai foods and culture was lost. They had meetings to ensure that this does not happen again, and I guess time will tell what occurs. Cheers
Langsuan Man
This was my favorite, she barbecues chicken and pork in these large earthen pots and it seals in the flavor. In fact she has a stall at the main market during the week and we go at least twice a month and get her chicken and eat one and freeze the other, good eats photo credit to TomBrown
TomBrown
As well as some other food, we also had the chicken on Saturday, it really was tasty. Shame I didn't get a photo when they had the chickens in the pots cooking. On the Sunday we had the pork from the spit, which was also really tasty, as well as some other smaller food of course. Some food bought from the street can occasionally give me an upset stomach, but everything I had over the weekend at the market was just fine. TomBrown
As it was recently mentioned again in another post, here's some more photos. Definitely worth a visit with many types of Thai food available at good prices. There are tables and chairs about half way along next to 7-11 shop, or also at the bridge end where there is a music stage and beer.

seasia
Hi I went there about 3 weeks ago, good selection of food, pretty sure I bought off one of the stalls in your pics. Also bought off a stall selling some nice cakes, might go back this week end. Thanks for pics.
