LAREDO, TEXAS (BNO NEWS) -- A Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight test was evacuated on Tuesday after landing in Laredo, Texas due to smoke detected in the cockpit, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said.

According to FAA spokesperson Lynn Lunsford, the test flight "declared an emergency due to smoke in the cabin and all occupants evacuated via emergency slides," at about 2:54 p.m. CDT.

"We are looking into the incident," Lunsford added.

The Seattle Times reported that about 30 to 40 people were aboard the aircraft.
