Hi just looking for advice on a problem just found.

My girl friends Thai ID card and passport have surname spelt different.

I only noticed because i am starting to fill out forms for a tourist visa to Australia.

Id car finishes her surname with isan and passport is isarn.

looking for advice on what i should do.

Thanks

Had a similar problem when my sister in law applied for a visa to visit us in the UK. We filled in the forms using the spelling in her passport.

Presumably the spelling in Thai is the same in both?

BTW, I've edited the topic title to make what you want to know more clear.

Had the same problem ,with my daughter. The translations were done by Thais, so they spelt her given name as "MERY" instead of Mary. The Australian Embassy ,actually picked it up, and advised me let it stay. So, now officially she is Mery, and so, all official documents , ;like school enrollments, etc.. she is known as MERY.But commonly she is Mary. Bit of a laugh ,really
