Kimera wrote: Yes I have both the documents the Thai driving license I swopped for a IDL and the yellow Tabian Bahn I swopped for a Liverpool football shirt, good eh! and you are right get back to the topic

Mmm The flippant nature of your posts is a good indication that you have neither, maybe I will give you the benefit of doubt on your licence.

However if you purchase insurance on a vehicle in Thailand you would know how useful a Thai lic is in comparison to an IDL. IDL means that you are not covered, well at least in both my class 1 policies you would invalidate your cover driving on an IDL. Read your policy.

I hope you swapped it and not “swopped” it lol. :DBut let’s agree to disagree and go our separate ways. . Now back to reading the post at hand.

On my way back home I was talking with a colleague of mine about this story and my "theory" about the bad "recruiting agent". He listened, read the thread then pointed out a few flaws in my theory.

First why did I think he was trying to take her abroad? I answered because of the passport.

Then why did he need the "other" papers and how did he gets them ? He stole them or did she give them voluntarily to him ?

He said the main flaw in my theory was my basic assumption girl = good, man = bad. He said it was totally possible that what really happen was she borrowed money from the guy, he kept the personal papers as collateral, she can't /won't give back the money. He is getting angry. She wants to disappear but can't because he still has her papers ...

I have to say his theory makes sense too.

Would the OP mind giving us more details ? 200 Bahts are at stake ! hi mate. ok this girl was totaly taken in by this man you are right about passport /papers. he told her all sorts of lies

and he never give her any money. she had only had 1 man thai and he let her down big time. so as it is she looked to the farang side of things thinking they are very honest and trusting but she was wrong. i persuaded her to report to the police which she has done, and changed her phone number because he was phoning her night and day the poor girl was so scared she could not sleep for worry what this man would do. i know about thai girls and this one is well brought up young lady. and as it is with all thai girls they are afraid to make a fuss. ok i think i have given you what you wanted to hear , thanks for listening. oldgent

Another Thai expert...:whistling: .....actually not strictly true as regards a IDP (there is no such thing as a IDL) and why two class 1 policies for one vehicle..??
