Best Way To Bkk From Miami, Florida

Featured Replies

Hello, I am interested in finding the best route from Miami to BKK. I was thinking about flying to NYC (about 3 hrs.) then take Thai Airways nonstop to BKK. Any help is appreciated and yes price is always an issue.

Expedia - seems to have the cheapest routes w/Delta and Korea Air. $990 high season (Jan)

Yup, that's the best route. Or you can go to Fort Lauderdale and take Songair to JFK. Cheaper.

Believe a flight to SEATAC and connection there would be the shortest normal route (think that NY-BKK is higher price but not sure). When I flew from Miami the Seattle route was my choice.

Thanks....I think the JFK-BKK flight is 17 hrs. that with the 3 hrs from Ft.Laud make it the same as it takesme from Los Angeles now. Has anybody flown this Thai Air n/s from JFK to BKK. I was wondering how the executive economy is, I am fairly sure they offer it.

Eric

I haven't flown that route, yet, but check this forum-

Look for the Thai Airways forum--They have trip reports from people that have taken it.

Yes, there are 4 classes. I took this flight last month (BKK-JFK). Taking casual look, the seat size is almost the same. Little more leg room tho. The problem with the executive economy is that you cannot lift armrests and lay down across 4 seats if they happen to be free.

I live in NYC, and have always found Thai Air flights very espensive. I think your best bet is to get a cheap flight to the west coast, and then fly to BKK non-stop from there. It will cut down on the lenght of the flight. Flying to NYC will be three hours plus any layover, you might as well already be closer to BKK by being on the west coast.
