Teen found dead near Boston possibly fell from plane, officials say

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA (BNO NEWS) -- Authorities on Tuesday said that they are investigating the possibility that the mutilated body of a teenager found in Milton, Massachusetts, last week may have fallen from an airplane.

On November 15, the mutilated body of Devonte Tisdale, 16, was found in an upscale section of the Boston suburb. The teenager mysteriously disappeared from his Charlotte-home sometime between Sunday night and Monday.

Authorities believe that Tisdale possible stowed away in a jet wheel and fell to his death when the doors opened as the airplane approached landing in Boston. The body was found shirtless, shoeless and badly damaged.

The initial autopsy did not reveal any cause of death due to the heavy damage sustained by the victim. Tisdale suffered broken bones and severe trauma, particularly to the head. Bone fragments were also discovered at the scene.

Tisdale was identified after fingerprints analysis and authorities also found a handwritten note on the body. The note appears to be a month-old school hall pass with the words "Tisdale" and "A lunch" written on it. The date "10/19/2010" was also written in the paper but so far authorities have had a hard time trying to piece together the teenager’s last days.

Anthony Tisdale, the father of the Charlotte teenager, said that he does not know the cause of his son’s disappearance. He saw his son on Sunday night for the last time. Devonte was playing video games as his father told him 'Hey, man. Good night,' at about 10:00 p.m. local time.

Despite rumors that Devonte Tisdale was not comfortable at home and was seeking to run away, his father assured that his son loved Charlotte since the first time they arrived there. The 16-year-old boy was actively involved in many of his high-school activities.

He was a prominent member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) and did not missed a day of school. He was a sophomore at North Mecklenburg High School.

"My son was a hardworking man," said Tisdale. "He didn't frequent the streets. He didn't listen to a lot of out-of-the-way music. He played video games, and spent time with the family. We did projects around the house. And, you know, he loved the ROTC."
