bonsaimax Posted August 12, 2005 Share Posted August 12, 2005 After having read that microsoft is cracking down on pirated windows OS, i am not quite sure now whether to download the latest updates available. I have been downloading religiously until now. I have win XP pro on both my computers. Have any of you experienced any irregularities after downloading these latest updates? Firefoxx Posted August 12, 2005 Share Posted August 12, 2005 Hmm, I turned off auto-updates ever since I installed WinXP sp1. Since then, I've only downloaded the RPC vulnerability update. This is because I don't like it when some update for some vague problem crashes my computer (happened twice). I don't see a problem with not updating, as long as you practice safe computing (firewalls, scanning, alternative browser, etc). I think I'll just wait until SP3 comes out, and do a reinstall.
