I think the legality question can be summed up this way:

It's OK to talk about VPNs in Thailand, but if somebody uses what you say to do something illegal, you may be liable under the Computer Related Crime Act.

when did they lift the ban? was it an official ban or was it an enforced policy (like the alcohol 2-5pm thing that only applies to big stores)

I've always wondered if you were using a VPN for work, if your were violating some cyber law here?

anyhow nice to see some progress in the matter
