MrYogi
VPN is illegal in Thailand. If you write or talk about it, you can go to jail (seriously) It is possible that this has changed, but either way be careful with VPN

LivinginKata
I have now been advised that VPN is legal in Thailand as discussed in this topic. Note that although VPN is legal how it is used can be illegal such as blocked sites, gambling, viewing licensed television stations etc. Topic now open again. tvh13
freevpn is free and a pain in the ass with all of the ads etc. Strongvpn works and it works quite well and it costs money. There is plenty of info to be found through the google.
woodyleonhard
I think the legality question can be summed up this way: It's OK to talk about VPNs in Thailand, but if somebody uses what you say to do something illegal, you may be liable under the Computer Related Crime Act. Whoa. At any rate, if you're wondering about VPNs and free VPNs, may I recommend the following article to you. (It was not published in Thailand): http://windowssecrets.com/2010/11/04/01-Cloak-your-connection-to-foil-Firesheep-snoopers In addition, there's a very good discussion of free VPNs at: http://lounge.windowssecrets.com/index.php?showtopic=779513
johnch12111
well you can not ban a topic when you have a sponsor which offers a VPN service as for the law in thailand it is very ambiguous so good luck
ozymandious
when did they lift the ban? was it an official ban or was it an enforced policy (like the alcohol 2-5pm thing that only applies to big stores) I've always wondered if you were using a VPN for work, if your were violating some cyber law here? anyhow nice to see some progress in the matter
